Postage & Late Fees
At One Knight Hire, we aim to make your rental experience as seamless as possible. Every garment is carefully prepared, professionally cleaned and packaged before dispatch to ensure it arrives ready for your event.
Please read the following information carefully regarding postage, delivery and returns.
Australia-Wide Shipping
We offer Australia-wide postage using Australia Post Express Post or another trusted courier service where required.
A flat-rate postage fee of $30 applies to all postal rentals, which includes delivery to you and a prepaid return Express Post satchel for returning your garment.
We aim to dispatch all garments several business days before your event to allow sufficient time for delivery. However, dispatch timeframes may vary depending on your booking date, location and public holidays.
Dispatch Timeframes
All orders are prepared as close to your hire date as possible while still allowing adequate delivery time.
Most garments are dispatched 2–5 business days before your event.
Customers located in regional or remote areas should allow additional delivery time and are encouraged to place their booking well in advance.
Delivery
Once your booking has been dispatched, you will receive tracking details via email or SMS (where available).
It is the customer's responsibility to monitor their tracking information and ensure the parcel is collected promptly after delivery.
If you believe there may be an issue with your delivery, please contact Australia Post first, then notify One Knight Hire so we can assist where possible.
Delivery Responsibility
Responsibility for the garment transfers to the renter once Australia Post or the nominated courier provider has marked the parcel as Delivered.
From this point onwards, the renter is responsible for collecting the parcel, ensuring it is stored safely and preventing any loss, theft or damage.
One Knight Hire accepts no responsibility for parcels that are lost, stolen or damaged after confirmed delivery.
Customers are encouraged to provide a secure delivery address where someone is available to receive the parcel.
Incorrect Delivery Information
Customers are responsible for ensuring all delivery information provided during checkout is accurate.
One Knight Hire accepts no responsibility for delays, failed deliveries or lost parcels resulting from incorrect or incomplete delivery addresses, incorrect postcode or contact information, incorrect shipping selections, or failure to collect the parcel after delivery.
Where a garment cannot be recovered due to incorrect information supplied by the customer, the renter may be charged up to the full replacement value of the garment.
Courier Delays
While every effort is made to dispatch orders within our advertised timeframes, One Knight Hire cannot guarantee delivery dates.
We are not responsible for delays caused by Australia Post, courier providers, severe weather, public holidays, natural disasters, industrial action, government restrictions or any circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If a courier delay prevents your garment from arriving before your event, One Knight Hire may, at its sole discretion, offer Store Credit or transfer your booking to another available date.
Refunds will not be provided for courier delays that are outside our control.
Travelling Before Your Event
If you are travelling before your event and require your garment earlier than our standard dispatch schedule, please contact One Knight Hire before placing your booking.
Where possible, we will arrange early dispatch.
If we are not informed of your travel plans and your parcel arrives after you have already departed, no refund or Store Credit will be provided.
Returning Your Rental
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all garments must be returned by the agreed return date stated in your booking confirmation.
Postal returns must be lodged over the counter at an Australia Post Office using the prepaid Express Post satchel provided.
Please do not place your return parcel in a street-side post box unless instructed by One Knight Hire.
After lodging your parcel, we recommend keeping your lodgement receipt and tracking number until your return has been successfully delivered.
If your prepaid return satchel has been lost or damaged, please contact One Knight Hire before returning your garment so alternative arrangements can be made.
Late Returns & Late Fees
All garments must be returned by the agreed return deadline.
Failure to return your garment on time will incur a late fee of AUD $10.00 per garment, per day, unless otherwise agreed to in writing by One Knight Hire.
Late fees continue to accrue daily until the garment has been lodged with Australia Post or another return method has been approved by One Knight Hire.
Late fees apply regardless of whether the garment has been worn after the event.
Where a late return affects another customer's booking, One Knight Hire reserves the right to recover any reasonable losses incurred, including lost rental income, express postage costs, administrative expenses and any additional costs required to fulfil another booking.
Repeated late returns or repeated breaches of these Terms & Conditions may result in future bookings being refused.
Failure to Return a Garment
Failure to return a garment without prior written approval may be treated as the unlawful retention of One Knight Hire's property.
Where reasonable attempts to recover the garment have been unsuccessful, One Knight Hire reserves the right to recover the full Recommended Retail Price (RRP) or replacement value of the garment, outstanding late fees, postage costs, administrative expenses and any recovery costs incurred.
Where legally permitted, unpaid amounts may be referred to a debt collection agency or recovered through legal proceedings.
Payment of a replacement fee does not transfer ownership of the garment. All garments remain the sole property of One Knight Hire.
