One Knight Hire – Terms & Conditions

By placing a booking with One Knight Hire, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions. These Terms form a binding rental agreement between the renter and One Knight Hire.

Booking Process

Bookings are made directly through the One Knight Hire website. Simply browse our collection, select your preferred garment, choose your event date, complete checkout and submit your booking. Once payment has been successfully received, your booking will be confirmed, subject to garment availability.

Prior to the commencement of your hire, valid government-issued photo identification must be provided. Identification is required to verify the identity of the renter and removes the requirement for a security bond. One Knight Hire reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking where satisfactory identification cannot be provided or where fraudulent or misleading information is suspected.

Age Requirement & Acceptance of Terms

To place a booking with One Knight Hire, the person completing the booking must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under Australian law.

Before completing checkout, all customers are required to tick the acknowledgement box confirming that they have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions and that they are at least eighteen (18) years of age.

If the individual intending to wear the garment is under the age of eighteen (18), the booking must be completed by a parent or legal guardian who is eighteen (18) years of age or older. By accepting these Terms & Conditions, the person completing the booking confirms that they have the legal authority to enter into this agreement and, where applicable, are doing so on behalf of the minor. They accept full legal and financial responsibility for the booking, including all rental fees, late fees, damage, replacement costs and any other amounts payable under these Terms & Conditions.

One Knight Hire relies on the information and declarations provided by the customer during checkout. If false, misleading or inaccurate information is provided, the person completing the booking accepts full responsibility for any consequences arising from that booking.


Hire Period

The standard hire period is four (4) days, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The hire period begins on the day the garment is collected or delivered and concludes on the agreed return date specified in your booking confirmation.

All garments must be returned either by local drop-off or lodged over the counter at an Australia Post Office using the prepaid Express Post satchel provided.

Return parcels must be lodged no later than 12:00pm (midday) on the final day of the hire period.

For weekend hires, all returns must be lodged or returned by 5:00pm on Sunday, unless otherwise agreed.


Late Returns

Garments returned after the agreed return deadline will incur a late fee of $10.00 per day until the garment has been returned.

Where a late return impacts another customer's booking, One Knight Hire reserves the right to recover any reasonable losses incurred, including but not limited to lost rental income, express shipping costs and administrative expenses.

Failure to return a garment without prior written approval may result in replacement costs being charged and further recovery action where necessary.

Repeated late returns or breaches of these Terms & Conditions may result in future bookings being refused.


Shipping & Delivery

A flat-rate postage fee of $30.00 applies to all postal hires.

Customers are responsible for selecting hire dates that allow sufficient time for delivery before their event.

While One Knight Hire will dispatch all orders within the advertised timeframe, we are not responsible for delays caused by Australia Post, courier providers, severe weather, public holidays or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Responsibility for the garment transfers to the renter once the parcel has been marked as delivered by Australia Post or the nominated courier provider. One Knight Hire is not responsible for parcels that are lost, stolen or damaged following confirmed delivery.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all delivery information provided at the time of booking is accurate.


Refunds & Cancellations

As each booking reserves a garment exclusively for your selected dates, One Knight Hire does not offer refunds for change of mind, incorrect size selection, the garment not being worn, event cancellations or courier delays that are outside of our reasonable control.

Bookings cancelled within six (6) hours of purchase may be eligible for a refund, provided the garment has not been prepared or dispatched. Approved refunds may be subject to a small administration and payment processing fee.

Where a garment arrives with a significant fault or damage that was not disclosed prior to dispatch, One Knight Hire must be notified within eight (8) hours of delivery or collection. The garment must remain unworn, and clear photographic evidence must be provided before any compensation will be considered.

Minor signs of wear consistent with normal rental use do not constitute a fault and are not grounds for a refund.


Garment Care & Responsibility

All garments are professionally cleaned, inspected and prepared before every hire.

The renter agrees to take reasonable care of the garment throughout the hire period and to avoid anything that may stain, tear or otherwise damage the fabric, including fake tan, makeup, food, drinks, jewellery, handbags and rough or abrasive surfaces.

Customers must not attempt to wash, dry clean, alter, repair or modify the garment in any way.

The renter remains fully responsible for the garment from the time it is collected or delivered until it has been returned in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.


Damage, Loss & Replacement

The renter agrees to return the garment in the same condition in which it was received, excluding reasonable wear associated with normal rental use.

If the garment is returned with stains, tears, pulls, burns, missing embellishments or any other damage beyond normal wear and tear, the renter will be responsible for all reasonable cleaning, repair or replacement costs.

Where a garment is lost, stolen or deemed beyond economical repair, the renter may be charged up to the full Recommended Retail Price (RRP) or replacement value of the garment.

Payment of a replacement fee does not transfer ownership of the garment, which remains the legal property of One Knight Hire.


Dry Cleaning

Professional dry cleaning is included in the rental price.

Customers must not wash, dry clean or attempt to remove stains from the garment themselves. Attempting to clean or repair the garment may result in further damage and additional charges.


Chargebacks & Fraud

By placing a booking, the renter agrees not to initiate a chargeback or payment dispute where One Knight Hire has fulfilled its obligations under this agreement.

Providing false information, using another person's payment method without authorisation or attempting to obtain a garment through fraudulent means constitutes a serious breach of these Terms & Conditions.

One Knight Hire reserves the right to recover any outstanding amounts, cancel bookings without refund, refuse future bookings and report suspected fraudulent activity to the relevant authorities or payment providers where appropriate.


Agreement

By proceeding with your booking, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions in full. You acknowledge that you are entering into a legally binding rental agreement with One Knight Hire and agree to comply with all policies relating to bookings, payments, postage, returns, garment care, damage, late fees and replacement costs.
